Urologic Oncology

Kidney Cancer

Kidney cancer is common but remains a challenging disease. Patient usually presents with flank pain and hematuria. Surgery is the mainstay of treatment although advanced disease may need treatment by radiation, chemotherapy or immune-threrapy.
In surgery attempts are made to make the surgery comfortable to the patient by resorting to laparoscopy (key hole surgery) instead of open operation. Attempts are also made to salvage portion of the kidney by doing partial nephrectomy.

Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer found in men and usually begins without symptoms. The chances of surviving prostate cancer are greatly improved with early detection and treatment. At Fortis, we offer the entire spectrum of treatment options including, but not limited to, nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy, laparoscopic prostatectomy, brachytherapy, and active surveillance, as well as offering Prostate Biopsy using Ultrasound guidance to diagnose prostate cancer.

Bladder Cancer

Bladder Cancer Bladder cancers present with blood in urine may be with clots. Patients may also have burning in urine, pain while passing urine with increased frequency of urine. Bladder cancers are more common in smokers. Early detection and timely treatment is the crux for successful management.
At Fortis, we offer removal of bladder tumors by holmium laser. We also have facilities for radical surgery, Radiation, chemotherapy. Regular follow-ups can be done by flexible cystoscopies. Wherever indicated intravesical therapy by BCG or chemotherapeutic drugs can be done.

Testicular Cancer

Testicular Cancer is usually a disease of young men who present with painless scrotal swelling. This disease needs multidisciplinary, comprehensive, and focused management. Penile cancer
